1957 Marquette Cement Vintage Zippo Lighter - Double-Sided Red Candy Stripe
This lighter has it all! 1957 Mint in Red Candy Stripe Box. Double Sided!
This lighter was issued to commemorate 1,000 safe days of work in 1957. Marquette Cement plant still exists today in Des Moines, nor under the name of Monarch Cement. - Marquette sells the plant to The Monarch Cement Company, based in Humboldt, Kansas. At the time of purchase, the plant is rated at 300,000 TPY -
The lighter is solid, unused, clean as can be with deep stamps on the case and insert. Both sides look great. It is in period correct box that has some issues and tape on some spots shown in photo. The box has handwriting on the inside cover.
This is a terrific example of a Zippo advertiser used as an employee incentive for safe work on the job.
We have graded this lighter Gem Mint 100.
