1951 or ‘52 CPL Victoria Power Station Steel Case Vintage Zippo - Double-Sided
Classic '51 - '52 Steel Case Zippo - Double-Sided Mint Condition
This lighter was created to commemorate the opening of a natural gas powered power plant in Victoria, Texas. CPL opened Plant X in October of 1952. The plant is still operational and is now owned and controlled by Xcel Energy some 68 years later.
The lighter has a steel case. The insert is steel. We are inclined to believe it is a 1952 version of its bottom stamp. The inside and insert are exceptionally clean. Never used hardly touched. There is a mark on the lid on the backside as shown in photo. We are not sure if its something that will rub off or if its a scrape.
This is an incredibly solid piece with correct insert and solid hinge. The back story of the power plant is great and easy to research. With the unknown of the back panel we have graded this Mint 96.
Someone at the Victoria power plant would love to own this.
