1967 Green Cross Superior Stone Co Vintage Zippo Lighter

Superior Stone Company of Raleigh, NC.  - Green Cross Safety Award!

This is a really crisp mint-in-box vintage Zippo advertiser. The 53 year old lighter is unfired NOS with original box. The hinge is tight the insert is correct and clean. The inside of this case is as if it was made yesterday. There are a few age spots on the backside of the lighter. We have graded this lighter Mint 96 based on the age spots, the rest of the lighter is Gem quality. 

Trent Ragland Jr - Superior Stone. 

Ragland, 94, died last month. He was married for 70 years to Anna Ragland, raised three children, and left an indelible mark on generations of North Carolinians through his charitable endeavors.

Ragland began working in the rock and quarry world as a teenager, spending decades ushering what began as his family’s business, Superior Stone Co., through multiple mergers into what is now Martin Marietta. When he retired in 1977, he was senior vice president of one of the largest companies of its kind in the nation.
