1958 Schlumberger Oilfield Services Truck Emblem Vintage Zippo - Excellent
This is an amazing piece!
This 62 year old lighter goes back to the day when Schlumberger (pronounced Schlum-bear-zhay) had an office and plant in the oil town of Bradford, Pennsylvania. Schlumberger is still going strong today. We are aware of several examples of this emblem being affixed to Zippos and belt buckles in this time period.
The lighter is amazing. We believe it is unfired, but will not declared it because the wick is a little dark. The body is really clean with no visible marks, the lid has very very faint scratches. Insert is clean and correct and the hinge is solid. To be frank we were shocked when we came across this lighter.
We have graded this lighter Excellent 94. If we were 100% certain it is unfired (and we think it is) we would have made this a Mint lighter. Some os the local Bradford historians are not sure if the emblem was affixed at Zippo or at Schlumberger. It is attached with Zippo quality.
